나에게 (Dear Self): Knowing When to Walk Away

나에게,

You are not replaceable. Don’t let anyone’s action determine your own self-worth. Their actions show their character and not yours.

Take this time to feel all the emotions that are going on inside of your beautiful soul. Emotions are so complex and meant to be felt. It’s okay to feel disappointed, abandoned, resentful, disrespected, insignificant, overwhelmed, ashamed, embarrassed, withdrawn, and numb. It is also alright if you are fixated on the good times you shared. The playfulness. The laughs. The love. Don’t try to downplay how much they still mean to you. Don’t protest or self-destruct because you still have this impulse to care. To wonder if they are alright. That is what love is about—the ability to love someone and know when it is best to walk away. Love is unconditional. You are allowed to grieve the loss of someone so significant in your life at one point. Time will heal all wounds.

My love, you must put yourself first. Take this time to be reminded of who you are and what you deserve. You are your ancestor's wildest dreams. You are worthy of so much love and happiness. So take a deep breath. Hold your head high. Put your shoulder back and keep on moving forward.

You have everything inside of you to live a bountiful life. You are beautiful and you are here.

Sincerely,

Me
